World Codesprint 11 was held in May. They promised us to "expect 6~8 weeks" for prizes, and 7 months are passed. And I talked about this two times.
It's worth noticing that Bitcoin prices has become 5x from then.
Will I ever be able to receive their moneys someday? I don't want to participate in a contest where organizers don't keep up their promises.
I didn't get money from April and May but I don't remember if it was 2016 or 2017
So, answer is no (at least unless you do smth for that)
I got prizes in early 2016 so probably it's 2017. But whatever they have a lot of money pending :(
My deepest condolences :f
100% sure you shouldn't expect bitcoin prizes.
The prize I received was an Amazon gift card.
AFAIK, it depends on the country. I received some bitcoin prizes at some point. They either give bitcoin, or Amazon gift cards
I received a prize in bitcoins before but last time it was payoneer payment involving filling in tax documents, so it also depends on time.
They took roughly 3 months to fix the rating bug in my profile (for those who dont know- in University Codesprint [pardon if name is incorrect, its a few months since that issue], which happened few months back, they did New Rating= 1500+ Change instead of New rating = Old rating + Change. So going from 2.1 k to 1.3k in 1 contest was ..:/ . It took me multiple mails to support and many months patience to get it fixed.)
At this point, I dont know if they are inefficient or mismanaged. But I do hope things get better soon, and that you get the money you deserve :) .
HackerRank rating is such a joke though, pretty sure you can climb back to 2.1k from 1.3k in 2or3 contests
Regarding Goldman Sachs Codesprint, I believe that the winners list was released via email, and you weren't on it. Unfortunately, I deleted that email. :|
That's another surprising news. I read the rules, and it says that they won't give prizes to someone who "didn't consent to sharing their information with Goldman Sachs.", which is most probable for me.
So if my guesses are right, it seems I forgot to check something in the stupid "Sign Up" dialogue which bugs me at every contest. AFAIK, I can't modify any information saved in that dialogue, so there is no turning back after entering. That's sad.
Btw, I didn't received any emails from HR. Is it related to that "Sign Up" dialogue thing? Or are you the winner?
This was the mail:
However, I also haven't received anything yet.
Thanks for sharing. Btw I see a lot of people in scoreboard missing..
I actually did receive my prize money from Goldman Sachs Codesprint. It seems like you forgot to check some box so you are not on the standings.
@gdisastery: They responded to me after I replied all and sent them my information.
I will try it again — thanks for the info!
Thanks for pointing out! I revised my article according to that. Still I want to rant about that unmodifiable dialogue :(
Don't expect anything from the worst programming judge ever
I was going to tag ahmed_aly, but then searched him on LinkedIn and realized he quit HackerRank and went back to Google. Maybe because of poor HackerRank management? I"m sorry you didn't get your money. You must be really pissed.

I didn't hear of anything about the hoodies of the University Codesprint 3 until 2 months after the contest ended when I thought I could never get it.Well, anyway their T-shirts are always sent in time. :D
I don't think so, I am still waiting for a t-shirt from HourRank 8 (May 2016) and I haven't been contacted about the University Codesprint 3 hoodies = P.
I received an email to claim my prize (the hoodie) on Nov 29. I had already won 3 shirts and they all arrived after a month or two from the moment I claimed them.
A few years ago, I got money for HR contests several times. Dunno how it is nowadays, I'm not competing much overall — but it used to be paid out once.
On a related note, if you noticed Buttcoin rising, did you invest?
Pictures worth thousand words :
I have a Korean account which holds my personal money, and I also earned decent money from there. But now I withdrew them all :p
What's the app you're using?
Coinbase
Yeah, same for me, my 300$ from HackerRank prizes is now worth ~3500$ :D Haven't yet decided if I should withdraw it, I hope Bitcoin's value doesn't drop to 0 tomorrow...
Hi @koosaga, I work at HackerRank, and we apologise for the troubles you’ve faced on this. We will get it resolved soon. Can you drop a mail to support@hackerrank.com with your user handle and relevant details? After that, we can get it checked and update you soon.
Make sure you pay him the amount of bitcoin deserved at the time of winning the prize!
Emails sent. Btw I have a lot of friends who also didn't received bitcoins. What happens to them?
In most cases, contest winners get their prizes within 6-8 weeks. In case any of your friends were part of the winners and haven't yet received their prizes, they can reach out to support@hackerrank.com with the details, and we will get the issue resolved for them.
I got that prize in June
I confirm that me and .o. received the prizes from World Codesprint 11, which has more money than promised. (maybe P___'s feedback worked?)
You're welcome ;)
