I had a revelation during my biology exam: every vertex in an unrooted tree should be called a "seed"; it has the potential to become a root, but it's not the root yet.

If one node of a tree has a degree of $$$n-1$$$, the tree should be called flower, the central node pistil or stamen and the other nodes should be called petals
