I wonder what the red coders like tourist Errichto do other than solving programming problems.

Are they busy doing some kind of research? Do they get offers from MNCs for solving their very difficult technical challenges?

See his real principle here !

This person gave me advice not to poke into other's business. But it seems like in less than 6 hours, he created a blog just to poke into red coder's business.

Kid I think you should stick to your own principles first.

Maybe he just did to get up-votes as his previous comments were bombarded with down-votes :P

Son this is the 6th revision of your comment. 1st-2nd-3rd-4th-5th-6th....Literally!! I guess 7th is on the way.

Let me guess the time utilization in this great task: 5 minutes or 10 minutes..maybe 15

Your morning routine be like: Holding a cup of coffee, switching on the laptop, searching for a new prey and looking at his/her submissions all "10/20/30/endless" pages of ~100 submissions each(I don't know the count of submissions on a page, perhaps you can tell, you might have counted and also because you like to observe things).

Since the time you registered (2 weeks), you have solved only one very very tough question of outputting "a+b". Salute!! How much do you make out of this fresh business? Maybe I can also switch to this business and yes we can be partners man and stalk the whole community. Amazing!! This thought is giving me chills. Highly Excited!!

The list is long. I think that I spent the most time in TES III: Morrowind, TES IV: Oblivion, Path Of Exile, Dying Light, Terraria and Minecraft (but that's only a small part of the list).

Computer games are a cool way to get inspiration for problemsetting.

Tried to play it back in 2012, but I didn't like the differences with the previous parts of TES. Perhaps I should give it another try.

The main thing that I found unsatisfying was the struggle with the game's interface (the interface of Oblivion was already cumbersome for me, and Skyrim's one degraded even further), but maybe SkyUI can solve this problem partially

I love AOE II! And the fact that DE was released was great for the game, queueing research in particular was SO necessary.

You were already super-cool, so now you've become like very-super-cool in my totally-made-up-but-significant-to-me coolness rank :)

Those who are still in school are busy failing subjects.

Those who have finished school are busy failing in real life.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but seems to me that most of the time if I'm not solving programming problems I'm drowning in my homework.

Unfortunately, I am unable to devise an algorithm to help me with that...

How does a 16yr old red coder give you hope? Most young reds are prodigies, how can they inspire you or me, us normal people? Seek inspiration from someone whose success you can emaulate, someone who started at newbie and took 4-5 years to reach red because that's the most likely scenario for ~99% users. I don't take hope from tourist for example, he reached red at the age of 13-14 on topcoder. Does he inspire you?

I meant that I, also as a student, am motivated by him because he is proof that students can balance school and programming. That with all the homework and so he still finds time to learn about programming and become a red. I do agree that young prodigies do make you wonder what you should be doing in your life.

In case you didn't know, the OP is from one of top schools in Singapore and a school in which they have special programs to hone the math, computing and science abilities of students (and the OP is the cream of the crop). Average Singaporean students would be unable to even gain admission to such a school.

Source: Just google the OP's handle.

I’d imagine a section on Codeforces tagged ‘inspirational’, full of content like in these comments. Who knows, if Codeforces decides to become more commercial one day (like most of its competitors), maybe we will see it happening.
