Why do some people randomly get downvoted for no reason? Is it because they have low rating? It doesn't make sense. This just proves how toxic and immature the Codeforces community really is. I am ashamed to be a part of this community. It is an absolute disgrace. The only way not to get downvoted is by having high rating.

No. The people in this community discriminate against lower rated users.

You just say that because you are a newbie. People downvote you because your blogs are just stupid trolls. If you don't want downvotes, so just don't post shit

Nah. Look at me, I get down voted quite often(or that's because of my low rating?).

One outlier doesn't mean anything. I mean, just look at Um_nik, he gets downvoted to oblivion sometimes. But there's definitely a correlation between rating and downvotes — it is true that lower-rated users are more likely to get downvoted but also that higher-rated users are more likely to post informative or smart comments as opposed to blogs like these.

Wrong. Rating and quality of blogs have no correlation.

Wrong. Higher rated coders are higher rated for a reason. They know more stuff and can give more advice.

I don't know whether to take this guy seriously or not because all his blogs seem like unintelligent trolls.

Ratism definitely exists and is stupid. Many people get downvoted unfairly because of rating, but occasionally a higher-rated user sticks up for them and turns it around, which is nice to see. However, it doesn't seem like there's much we can do about it without an enormous community-wide effort and/or eliminating herd mentality, which both seem very hard to pull off (and maintain).

That being said, you definitely deserve downvotes. As an example, this blog of yours is absolutely useless.

I'll admit bias against low rated users may happen every once in a while, but treating ratism like all the other -isms is stupid, and unfair downvoting happens rarely. Unlike things like race and gender, rating is a meritocracy, so people who are higher rated are more likely to say sensible things in the community, as being higher rated means they've spent more time and have more practice then lower rated users. This means almost always if a low rated person is downvoted and they call out ratism, it's either because they're comment is dumb or said many times but they don't have enough experience to understand how dumb or repetitive it is (lol), or they're too new to the community where they don't understand the 'social norms'. That doesn't mean any rating can't make good or stupid comments though.

I don't get why people downvoted that blog so much. It's not like it harmed or insulted anybody else. I had a question but then I figured out the answer. That is why I decided not to ask it.

There's already so much spam on this site (look at any round's comment section), it's super annoying to have a blog with virtually no content (it just wastes space, and it seems like we'll never get the option to hide certain blogs).

I had a question but then I figured out the answer, so I decided not to ask it.

I guess that's okay, but there are easy things you can do to make the blog not annoying. For example, just hide it. At the very least, edit it to show that there used to be content but it was removed so it doesn't seem like you're just spamming/a troll.

We have different ideas of insulting ig. And tbh even if the only way to not get downvoted is by having high rating (it is not true though), that would do more good than bad, because it would encourage people to practice and gain possibly helpful skills instead of wasting there life away commenting (like me right now).

Stop posting stupid stuff, if you got downvoted, it doesen't mean that people downvoted you because of your RATING. Your blogposts are just stupid trolls, that is why people downvote you. If you think that codeforces is so toxic and immature, so why you still comment and post blogs?
