I am a one who gets benefit from ratism, but I hate it. Every newbie and pupils asking a question gets downvote. It's not because they wrote useless stuff. Even bug reports from them got downvotes. Please stop giving frustrations to them.
P.S. It would be upvoted, but green writing the same thing will be downvoted because of ratism.
I certainly agree. When I write dumb things when I was green or grey, I got like tons of downvotes. My contribution was -42 or something like that. When I write dumb things when I am CM, I get downvotes, but a lot more less. Also, there is not a huge gap in time. Lets say only 9 months between me pupil and me CM. So I really experienced the situation.
Yeah. I can't find reason to downvote https://mirror.codeforces.com/blog/entry/72088 except ratism.
I don't think so. It is just correlation but not causation.
Only people who wrote useless stuff would be downvoted. Come on, who will like to see useless things when they randomly clicking into posts? And who will waste their time to downvote people just because of the rating? (Yeah, probably exist, but only a minority)
People expect to see interesting / educational / discussable topics, but not spams that are not useful at all. High-rated persons will (almost) never post really simple bug-fixing posts: both what people expected and in reality. Just like you won't expect a university student to say really stupid things. But for low-rated persons, they may not want to put effort on debug their code / google some simple problems. This is one of the reasons why they couldn't have a higher rating and also getting downvotes.
For higher-rated people (e.g. red), they will mostly get more upvotes (/ downvotes), just because more people clicking into their posts (just like celebrities).
TL; DR: It is not ratism. It is just quality of posts. Spam posts mostly come from low-rated people. Therefore they get more downvotes. Remember, correlation is not equal to causation!
I think it is because Gray people need more help on debugging than red people. They are new to programming, so they are new to debugging.
They often face hardships on debugging, and ignoring them doesn't help them. We need to help them to study.
I hate the fact that most of them think that somebody's going to debug their code for them. They should learn how to do that themselves, and not to rely on others. There are also many questions that have been answered a lot of times, but are still being asked. There are countless blogs like "I have been practicing x months I am still grey", "How to practice?", "How to increase rating?". The best thing we can do is downvote this kind of blogs to make people use google. This is not ignoring, there are a lot of resources online, and people should be able to use them.
I still has negative contribution. I don't know why. Although it doesn't matter but it discourages me comment now. I know this will get downvoted too.

take your SJW bs somewhere else.
I totally agree with you. I remember I wrote a blog about (why do I get tle in some problem). Got upvotes. Another green wrote the same blog which finding his bug was more helpful for community than mine, and it sadly got downvoted... I guess the reason of these actions is because of some special part of green/grays that really ask dumb questions. And people just do downvote others because of habit even if the blog was pretty useful.
Yeah, just like this was totally downvoted

A bug report that wasn't downvoted.
I asked a question a few days back in this forum about something I was not able to find any solution. it was getting a lot of down votes initially but you know what two people actually gave their valuable answers and my issue was resolved. I am grateful to them.
Anonymous vote system will be always like this. Yes it feels unfair but as long as my queries get resolved negative contributions does not matter. Thanks to you for caring about this though :). I will ask gray and green coders dont get discouraged by this. But only post a question after searching through blogs on that topic. Someone will definitely answer. Lastly big shout out to all those people who keep answering others' queries and keep making this community better. Thank you. Down votes incoming but that's okay ;)
Nope it's just the fact that newbies and pupils are not that funny. It can be shown that there is a direct correlation between how funny you are and how much rating you have. Proof left as an exercise.
So this is where my vodka was all along. Damn you, Dmitri!

Proof never left me , better luck next time
I can certainly admit that ratism is not that big. From the above comment, I got -85 downvotes. I never got as low as that when I was grey/green.
