Hello!
In the Caribbean Online Judge has been created a new style of competition called Progressive Contest, this type of contest has been well received by users who have participated and each time increasing the number of competitors, including several countries. I invite you to join and try this new style, and leave here in the comments what you think. The next contest is scheduled at this link, and there you can see more details: http://coj.uci.cu/contest/contestview.xhtml?cid=1301
PS: I am one of the contestants in the Caribbean. :)
Well, can you describe difference from ICPC rules?
I will briefly describe the rules, for more information visit this link http://coj.uci.cu/contest/contestview.xhtml?cid=1301
A progressive contest is a very interesting type of contest, it consists of several levels, you start at level 1 and after solving an specified amount of problems you advance to the next level, every problem has a score according to the level of the problems, after solving an specified amount of problems then you will be able to see all the problems of the contest. We hope you enjoy it and participate to improve the level of the contests in the Caribbean. we are counting on you......
Contest lasts 10 days because of the big amount of problems and difficulty, that , the scoring and visualization of problems are the main differences from ICPC contests.
It would be great to participate in this competition and all who want.
Contest has just begun.... good luck everyone....
Please someone stop Anton Lunyov!!!!... check current ranklist, http://coj.uci.cu/contest/cscoreboard.xhtml?page=1&cid=1301 very good programmers have managed to participate in the contest, we hope some other great programmers join later. It is possible that a harder level is added to the contest to make it a little bit more interesting.... Lunyov got only three problems left....
If you ever decide to add new levels, please notify me via e-mail, or better add them as soon as possible. Otherwise I could miss this moment and someone could solve all the problems before I even see them.
Done. There are one more problem in each level. And also one more level, with four problems.
Good luck to everyone!!!
Level 6 was fair enough. But what next? :P
We need 10 levels for you. Congratulations. :-P
A harder level was added to the contest, so far no one has solved any of the new level problems.
For this edition, problems have low difficulty... due to COJ Development Team (CDEVT) they are testing the Progressive Style of Contests, in the version 3.0 of the system, released a few days ago.
For next edition, the problems sure will be much more challenging...
Congratulations to Anton_Lunyov!!! Being the first user who solved all initial problems, and using only four hours.
Yes, the problems of this contest are fairly simple. Security for the next edition will be more complex to achieve more competitiveness.
In fact harder problems have been added, right now the contest is getting really interesting, Anton Lunyov is leading, but he haven't solved yet any of the 4 problems of the hardest level, too many div1 codeforces contestants have joined the contest, including grandmasters.
When trying to load this page:

I only see:
An internal error has ocurred
When it will be fixed?
UPD
Already fixed.
We promise that next edition will have a lot harder problems so that it can be more challenging for great programmers like Anton Lunyov, we would like to make COJ a contest platform with rating like codeforces, topcoder and codechef. We would also like the collaboration of all the people that want to be problemsetters of any contest on COJ so that the contests can be done more often and with higher quality.
I am learning a lot in this contest and I am trying to get a good result!!! I would like to say that I studied Computer Sciences in the UCI , it is the university in Cuba where this contest is hosted. By the way, I would like to thank to alkaid and olimpo, two of the great coders from my university. I have learnt a lot from them. "Estoy lejos, pero a mi UCI y mi CUBA LINDA siempre las llevo conmigo".
The contest has finished, here is the link to watch the final standings http://coj.uci.cu/contest/cscoreboard.xhtml?cid=1301 Congratulations to Anton Lunyov who was the first to solve all the problems getting so the first place. Next contest will be announced here in Codeforces, but it will take at least three months because we have two months of vacation. Thanks to all participants for making this contest a big big challenge...
