Well, now that the clickbait-ish title has done it's wonder, I'd like to draw your attention towards the fact that my rating has had a +28 aggregate difference over the course of 3 months.
This perturbs me during the middle of the night and with a slight hint of melancholy, I ask myself this. Has my performance/ mental capacity reached it's zenith? What am I doing wrong?
For the former question, I'd like to believe otherwise. About the second one, this graph should be the answer.
Some wise words: If you're currently rated X
, you should be focusing more on problems rated [max(X, 800), min(X + 200, 3500]
.
Now the question arises, why should you be bothered? Well, in all truth, you shouldn't. This is kind of a plea, to put it correctly, not just for me, but for others who might face similar issues. Lately, I've been having an awful lot of trouble solving problems rated 1800+
, while problems rated 1600
are a breeze. The transition from 1600
to 1800
seems to be a herculean task for me. Am I lacking some prerequisite? Should I take a break from actively participating in contests and transition to classical problems?
I've been following A2OJ ladders and CSES hitherto.
TL; DR — What should be my course of action to have a reasonable chance of making it to CM?

Don't get stuck XD
Don't go in too deep
Otherwise you'll get a stack overflow

I am not able to figure out why is this advice is not working for me. Can you suggest me Something and share how did you practiced to cross that 1600 barrier.
Thanks !!
Give the practice little more time , be patient and you will surely reach your goal.
I think you should just keep trying problems that challenge you. I was stuck at the same rating too for quite some time. Eventually your rating will go up as you get better.
By chance, do you happen to be an English major?
I've been gradually losing rating for > 4 months :(
Well, Your english knowledge is quite good.
If the programming thing does not work you can still become a great writer. I wish I had the ability to create such a text.
This perturbs me during the middle of the night and with a slight hint of melancholy
I had to google the meaning of these words to understand the sentence lol.

Practice.
Tried upsolving previous contest problems?
I'd be really thankful if you told me if there is a way to get the statistic of #problems I solved per difficulty, like the one in the post

Are you stuck setpsis?
Why so NL ? :P
Sir, while I am very impressed with your extensive vocabulary, I would like to point out that there is a mistake in the first sentence of your blog.
It should be "now that the clickbait-ish title has done its wonder" and not "now that the clickbait-ish title has done it's wonder".
Hope you have a good day.
Oh no, what have I done...
Hopefully, this doesn't perturb you during the middle of the night with a slight hint of melancholy xD
.
Tatakae. Tatakae. Tatakae.
Those smiles are no more :(
You are stuck only for 3 months, it is not so long
First of all, closer to 2 months than 3 months and second of all just hang on, keep doing 1600 then 1700 then 1800 then 1900, as you have done with previous difficulties (50+ problems each) and you will be CM in another 2-3 months max.
Also looks like you still keep doing problems under your rating, which is extreme waste of time. Because you did ~300 problems since 1st of February this year and 1/3 of them were rated less than 1100 and those problems are definetly gonna help you to get to 1700 or 1800.
