It’s that time of year again — the Hacker Cup team is excited to announce the schedule for our 2021 season, kicking off on August 27th!

To compete, you can register here at any time between now and the end of the qualification round on Aug. 30th.

As in 2020, we will host this year's Final Round virtually rather than in-person at a Facebook office, given the current global situation. The finals will take place towards the end of 2021, and details regarding the schedule and live stream will be announced later on.

Stay tuned for more announcements as we get closer to the start of the season in August. Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you on the Qualification Round’s scoreboard!

The Facebook post announcing the schedule can be found here.

I created a Facebook account about a month ago to register for Hacker Cup. But Facebook has disabled it twice. When it disabled it the first time, it asked me to verify my phone number which I did. Now it is again disabled and Facebook asked for a photo which I have sent but I haven't received a reply. Now I am scared if my account remains disabled, I won't be able to participate. Someone, please suggest what I should do. LoneFox please tell me something.

Thanks for pointing that out, and apologies for the issue — it's being looked into. In the meantime, I believe you should find that your registration had gone through and is reflected properly once you reload the page — please let me know if that's not the case.

I can't submit problems for practice, it says an error has occurred at FB's end.

I will be worried about round-2 (If I get that far) because round-2 is only 3 hours and early submission matters a lot.I am not very much used to this submission system of FHC.Can anyone share how did you guys get habituated with it when you first faced this type of submission system?

IMO the more important thing than submission time is being able to prove your algorithms works, and that nothing will go wrong when you run your code on a larger dataset.

For me, I usually set up this kind of template.

    Spoiler

Then just quickly download the file, run and upload (I don't use the zip file). Takes barely 20 seconds.

Then again, you only get one shot at this, so it's always important to know what you're doing (edge cases, stack size, etc.) before hitting that download button.

LoneFox I got mail and it says this — "Round 1 will begin on Saturday, September 11th at 10am PST and will last for 3 hours." but on website it says it will last for 24 hrs. Which one is wrong?

Edit- Corrected. It's 24 hrs.

Usually what rating are people that get t-shirts? Like what rating are they usually on Codeforces?

Sometimes not knowing the truth is very useful because then you will at least try to do the Impossible... and who knows, in this try you may create history.

I got an email about Facebook Hacker Cup:

Hi,

Thank you for participating in the Qualification Round. You've advanced to Round 1!

You can view full results from the Qualification Round, read solutions to the problems, and make practice submissions to them here.

Round 1 will begin on Saturday, September 11th at 10am PST and will last for 24 hours. The contest can be found here.

Good luck! The Hacker Cup Team

Time has been corrected.

I received an email today, regarding ordering a t-shirt. The email contains a link to collect details, which doesn't have the same domain as Facebook. I also got a warning that "the message seems dangerous", here is the link to screenshot. The sender is "no-reply@jniwebshop.com".

Can anyone please tell if this is an email from Facebook or a phishing email?

Thanks
