At last!
The problem is 65A - Harry Potter and Three Spells, if you're curious.
Apparently, thinking before coding helps.
What is the longest it took you to upsolve a problem?

Well, this problem now would be a piece of cake for u :p
.
Wow i also wanted to do something like that.
to remember these special days
You know a source code on Codeforces is really old when its ID has just 6 digits
Talking about ID's
Submission 42
Not as long as yours. However, I'd like to share 145D - Lucky Pair. I took the contest in 2012, yet not solving the task D. This year, I decided to give it a try 107142023 and finally got accepted.
just opened task and saw this, hmm...
10 years for me, too. (45G - Prime Problem)
Test 1 is strange :D Maybe you were submitting for another problem
Nope, that was actually meant for this problem (193116). I still got WA on the first test 10 years later haha.
Haha — you guys are chumps compared to me.
I have Legendary Grandmaster rating in contest ranked by longest time to solve: https://www.spoj.com/status/MINIMAX,royappa/
It kept me entertained for many years thinking of algorithms for this problem on flights or long drives or whatever.
There is another SPOJ problem that I have been trying since 2005, and one day I will solve that too. So nobody can hope to catch me. I AM REVERSE NO. 1!!
So, this discussion got me to thinking AGAIN about SPOJ problem "WATER" which I have been trying since 2005. The key idea suddenly came to me while sleeping, and it turned out to be soooo simple...
So this is my new personal world record for LONGEST time to solve a problem: 16 years, 3 months and 25 days.
There are plenty of great coders here who were born after my first WA :-)
Thanks yeputons for your inspiring post!
Problem: 93C - Azembler
wa test 117 omg never seen that
See here for problem G, you will se worse.
Well, this one was a lot more fun:
