So your target is just to be proficent in python?? Then u can continue with it, without worrying about your rating. But if u want to seriously dive deep in cp go for c++ instead or at least java.

Look, um_nik has a lot of expereince and is not in a learning phase. I just want to say that practicing all topics can help u grow overall in the initial phase. I have seen many people at the begining are strong with greedy but weak with bitmasking , maths or number theory .

Practice topic wise i would recommend cause it can overall develop u.

U are absolutely right. But look at the cost it causes a lot of time and effort and overall ur logic is correct .Only but u are just missing some case which u can easily see and fix instead of again puting time and efforts. In which u can solve a new question.

In the contest my friend or practce virtual contest if u want to learn the art of debugging. But please let us practice with easy and let us save our mental energy.

u can simply use lower bound on the array instead of iterating all over. With a complexity of O(logn) insetad of O(n).

Before 1100 dont learn any dsa and algorithms. Improve your implementation skills and basic maths etc. At 1100 (means now u know how to implement your solution) u can start the basics of (dp,recurrsion and binary search) which can help u solve the div 2c sometimes. Give virtual contest div 3 and div 4 to improve speed.

Dont give div 1 now. It will cause rating drop most probably....

Most OF THE 2 problems are from 900-1100. Most of the C problems are 1200-1500 (sometimes 1600-1700). I became pupil by solving problems of just 1200 difficulty .

Solve (1200-1400) for improving in B and C.

When i Dont understand the editorial, i most of the time look at the solution of red coders to understand their approach.

To, become pupil: U,dont need any advanced data structure u should have good knowledge of stl(maps,sets etc). Learn basic algorithm of binary search,number theory,bitwise operators. What u need is practice to reach pupil.(Solve 2 question fast / Solve 3 question) in div 2 can easily promote u to pupil. To, become specialist: U,need basics of dp,binary search,trees(basics) and dfs and bfs(basics). Well having the knowledge of these data structures and algorithms can help u to find a solution of problems of rating 1500- 1600 , u will be comfortable with them most of the time. .But, again u dont need to go in depth with these topics , practice maters more . Solving 3 questions in Div 2 constantly will grant u a promotion to specialist with ease. One, more tip i will recomend to reach specialst is to almost solve all problems of Div : 4 in a contest(highest difficulty will be 1600-1700) because u are officially the participant with highest rating (taking part in the contest).So, try to get a good rank. Again, i have experienced that only brutal practice can make u faster and better no other choice!!.

Look, i am not a master and i have only 4 months of experience in codeforces. But i know that solving difficult problems of range for u like(2100-2400 solve 110 each at presnt u have sloved 50 problems each) with consistency and pace can grant u the promotion .Work hard. :)
