Racism in ICPC As you may not know, starting this year the ICPC Africa regional qualifications was merged with the Arab contest (aka ACPC) to form the new Arab and Africa Collegiate Programming Contest. I’m a part of an African team that participated in this year’s contest, I'm going anonymous since people mentioned stories that who complains, gets threatened to be disqualified. This was our first participation and we were really excited and prepared really hard for this opportunity. Sadly we were shocked by how much racism we faced in an “African” country, not only from ignorant people on the street, but even from the contest director himself, “Mohamed Fouad”.

I honestly didn’t want to bring this up again, especially since I’ve already spoken out about the issue of negative contribution blogs. But recently, something far more serious has come up — and it can’t just be ignored.
There’s a user, [user:sunsetinParis,2025-04-15], who initially appeared to be engaging in the usual behavior we see from users farming negative contribution. While that itself is disruptive and annoying, it’s sadly not uncommon on Codeforces. However, this user has now crossed a line that should concern everyone in this community — he has begun posting openly racist content, particularly targeting Asians.

Mohamed Fouad Corruption Archive - ACPC Finding out that a director of a small local contest is corrupt is one thing, but watching a corrupt man succeeding in being one of the **high board committee of the ICPC** (The most prestigious programming competition in the world) is on the other hand very alerting, and should not be tolerated!

We need to save codeforces Codeforces used to be the one place I felt truly challenged. Now, it feels rigged. Does anyone else remember Codeforces during last year's summer? I do. It started when I noticed user [user:monkey_is_back,2026-03-12] replying to me with an offensive picture. Curious, I decided to check his other comments to see if it was a one-off mistake. Casual Racism on Codeforces? Hi all.
Recently I've been seeing a lot of weird blog posts and comments from/regarding this user [Sparky_Master_WCH1226](https://mirror.codeforces.com/profile/Sparky_Master_WCH1226).
He claims to be from Botswana (I'm pretty sure he's not and just he's trolling). His behaviour and comments in weird/broken English perpetuate the racist/harmful stereotype that people from Africa are stupid and can't communicate properly.
I don't know what Codeforces' policy is on this kind of behaviour. But as an African, seeing such behaviour makes me pretty uncomfortable. Especially when [other users](https://mirror.codeforces.com/blog/entry/102249) seem to be [jumping](https://mirror.codeforces.com/blog/entry/102200) on the bandwagon.
Maybe I'm just being butthurt and he is just having a bit of harmless fun. What do you think?

Racism Against Newbie I am sorry to say but whenever a Newbie writes a blog on codeforces it only gets down-votes no matter whether that blog is good or bad. It seems like the entire community is just racist to Newbies. I saw a blog where someone was asking for help because he was stuck in Newbie for over an year and he solved 80+ problems on all ratings <=1500 and all I can see is down-votes in the blog and comments posted by Newbies.
