This is a true story.

Grzegorz did not expect to wake up as a bug. He did not, but instead woke up at 6:07 AM. Strange. He set the alarm for 6 AM precisely...

This will not be the last strange thing to happen to Grzegorz.

He opens the computer to check his email. His Windows 95 operating system booted instead as Windows 67. Strange. When he looked at the calendar, he noticed it was 6th of July (June 7th for Americans). Strange.

His email said that a deposit has been succesfully made in his account. Strange. He didn't leave the house for the last 6 weeks, as Grzegorz was indeed a strange man.

He decided to go to the bank to check his account, so he went to the bus station. But because he woke up 7 minutes later, he had to wait another hour and 7 minutes for the next bus. Expected. Then, the bus arrived, and it was indeed bus numbered 67. Unsurprising.

He then descended at the 6th bus stop to go to his affiliate FG bank, namely its 7th branch. Strange. He then noticed his account balance has increased dramatically to 67,676.7 USD. Worse yet, just today the exchange of USD to RON just hit 6.7. Strange. He withdrew all that money and decided this was his lucky day. So he went to the horse racetrack to stake all his luck and money. Intriguing.

Arriving at the racetrack, He read the signs and knew he should place a bet on the 6th horse, namely that it will end on the 7th position. So he goes to the 6th booth and asks for 7 tickets in that matter. His 6th ticket had the serial number as 6,766. Strange.

He didn't even look at the race, he was very sure of the outcome. Strange? After all, would you not be sure yourself? So he walked to the 7th booth to ask for his winnings. He was surprised to learn, however, that he lost everything, as the horse had died after 67 seconds on the race track. Strange.

Maybe we can all take a lesson from Grzegorz and gamble all our money. 67.

Some years ago I made the following blog: Thank God, No more magic.

I want to now assert, although uselessly, that those days of juvenile joy are over. I want to fully apologize for the undeserved enthusiasm for such an event. If I could go back, I would try to tell my younger self not to stray on such a hateful path. But alas, as we grow old, we can only be filled with regrets.

Hello Codeforces,

I was browsing the home page earlier today. I noticed at some point max0000561's user page. After reading it on the english locale, for some reason I tried the russian locale (max0000561) and I noticed a difference: The russian characters in the name of his organisation have been suddenly revealed (worse yet, the name which appears in the english locale has its first letter capitalised, while the equivalent text in russian does not (Хейт клуб all cups vs All cups). This sort of thing is pretty cringe. So that is why I wanted to make a post to maybe as such notify responsible authorities

Have a nice day,

Francisc

Hello Codeforces,

I do not recall the last time this topic was brought into discussion. After a quick scan, I noticed there are no blogs on recent actions mentioning this issue, so then I felt the need to make a blog about it.

I've noticed a (worrying) statistic that for plenty of recent contests (at least starting since Codeforces Round #901) problem ratings have not been updated. As such, I wanted to make a call for questioning as to ask whether anyone knows what the development of this process looks behind the scenes (i.e. why does it take so long). Or at least, how can discord bots predict the difficulty of each problem in any given contest (that had its system testing finalized) in less than 1 minute yet, for codeforces, the equivalent system takes more than a month to update (i.e. what do they do different).

I hope this blog reaches you well, dear reader, and it is in the least coherent,

Francisc

Hello codeforces,

Some sources which I am afraid I cannot reveal indicated to me that starting with the following week CEOI 2023 will take place. For that reason, I wanted to open the question up publically of the existence of a mirror (and if there would be one, when). So this is the scope of this blog.

Keep grinding guys,

Francisc

Hello dear codeforces

Today, someone unburied a cadaver for me, that is, "Well, I think pretests should not be a guarrantee" and what not. And I think finally there should be a clear blog post where we should be to debate specifically which is "better*": weak pretests or strong pretests.

I await to see how each matter is argued, hopefully I and others could have something to learn from this,

Francisc

*: from a contest quality and overall quality perspective

Hello Codeforces,

This year certainly was one of the years of all time. With it coming closely to an end, I think it would be worth to reminisce and applaud the greatest contemporary problem setting creations. Which problem made you your year?

Hello codeforces

This is my AMA! You tell me something, and I will tell you if that thing enters the music box.

I swear to fucking god if you already know what enters it, and you spoil it, I will make it my life's duty to demolish you and your career.

First person that gets it, can DM me, but I won't give prizes because I am broke.

Good luck!

Francisc.
