Sa nu iti fie cu suparare, dar ar fi optimal daca ai scrie doar atunci cand ai ceva cu adevarat util de adaugat la conversatie.

Does anyone know what's the age limit of EJOI?

Rev. 3   Vote: I like it 0 Vote: I do not like it

theoretically, it's 16 y/o (although the rules, being copypasted, mention the year 2005). practically, this is an exception to the rule, as the main rule states one could participate if and only if they are enroled and attending a level not higher than that of secondary education (i.e. grades 5-8-11). As such, i don't know what to believe anymore reality is a lie

In Ukraine secondary education is including even the last(11th) grade afaik. And same goes for a lot of countries according to Wikipedia.

Each EJOI year you must be under 16, so ig you're mistaking something

Oh, so all is Ok, because as I understand limit is not the age, but the year you were born. This year it's 2007+ year, and though next year i'll be 15, i won't te be able to participate

Btw, there weren't qualifications from my country yet.

I know that qualifications for two teams to EJOI and one team to EGOI will take place from 22th to 26th of August, so probably quals. to JBOI is a different event.

Yes, you are right, and I don't think it's the best solution because as I remember they didn't even check contestant's camera and screen video.

                  What's the story about BOI?

Btw I didn't even know that Ukraine participate in Baltic olympiads before this blog:)

Well, maybe they had to do this because they couldn't conduct tst before JBOI deadlines. Also afaik JBOI is Balkan. As for BOI "quals" "no one" knows how they work.

Like, all BOI participants should by some means or others participate in RMI as well, and then each participant in BOI will be assigned a score equal to that of their one from RMI

Baltic was already held, and had actual problems and other things, so not Baltic.

The point of BalkanOI would then be to.. appeal to the governments and force them to give prizes or smth? I don't know

It has been confirmed to me by a higher authority thst BalkanOI would work as such: Nations send their delegations to participate in either BOI and RMI, they will both be proctored at the same time, they will have the same statements, but the final results will be completely disjunct.

well, the year you were born, by itself, means your age must be under 16... A, well, got it, forgot that person born in 2006 can be under 16 too, sorry.

Btw, then good luck at quals ;)

In year of my participation in my country to qualify was enough to know basic c++ and nothing else xd

I had no idea what is bits/stdc++.h, fast io, binary search, dp, any basic algos/ds xd

Ans without all that I was first in quals lmao (as result, with 25 points at ejoi =(

As you see, I had no idea even about cf, I regret now I didn't do cp seriously then, cause with my current knowledge could perform very well at EJOI

                Firstly, thanks :)

Secondly, never regret something you can't change now. If you'll work hardly you'll be able to participate in olympiads much higher level than EJOI ...

Yeah, this way I have hopes for next year IOI. Or maybe we could meet at IOI24? Cause that'll be my last year

But reading the rules mentions that jboi participants should be born after March 2007, but ejoi mentions only to be born later than 2007

            Seems pretty sus

JBOI: Students have to be in school during the year when the contest is held and no older than fifteen and a half.

EJOI: A Contestant is a student who:

              1. was enrolled in a school at a level not higher than secondary education, in the Country they are representing, for the majority of the period 1 September to 31 December in the year before eJOI'n. Students who are studying abroad may represent the Country of their nationality. Exceptions may be requested through the IC.

              2. Contestants of 2022 year should be born after 31st of December 2006

So, if you are born in 2006 you can take part in JBOI, but you are not allowed to take part in EJOI.
