Today, I woke up at 6:00 am feeling excited about Codeforces Round 925 (Div. 3). However, minutes into the contest, my brain just wouldn't function properly, and in the end, I'm expected to lose 5 rating due to lack of speed. If you look at my results, I managed to solve 5 problems, but the easiest problem contributed 35 penalty points. Do you have any suggestions on how to properly load up my Brain.exe file before a contest?
UPD: Thanks for the tips! Also after the hacks, I actually went up by 10 rating.
Sleep 8 hours in 16:00 — 24:00 range and be awake after 0:00.
Thanks!
Hope all the contests 3h earlier.
An offtopic Question as I couldn't resist myself from asking: How do u managed to Reach Specialist just by solving 180+ problems or do u practise in other coding platforms as well?
Yea, I also practiced on other platforms before I discovered Codeforces :)
In which platforms did you practice before codeforces?
CSES and Atcoder.
Thanks :)
Yesterday, I stayed up from 22:35 to 00:30 am feeling excited about Codeforces Round 925 (Div. 3). However, minutes into the contest, my brain just wouldn't function properly, but in the end, I'm expected to increase some rating due to lack of speed. If you look at my results, I managed to solve 6 problems.
My advice:
Good job! thanks for the tips!
First I think that depends of each person case. But in my personal case, I do three things:
I'll definitely try that. Thanks!
Congrats on reaching specialist! Now we have the same rating lol.
thanks!

A quick workout can help your body be prepared for contests too.
It also helps with sharpness from my experience.
Having a light meal is ideal too, as this is what I was doing whenever I had to take onsite contests in the morning at least.
Thank you!
It happens with me for the Sunday morning leetcode weekly contests (Indian timing). Try solving Rubik's cubes a couple of minutes before the contest, it helps :)
Then I got to learn how to first! :)
lowk solving rubiks cubes is pretty easy, but it does take like an hour or two to learn it
When I used to live in Germany, it was nice that all the contests were around 4pm-5pm right after school, now it be like 6:35am and I genuinely cannot think for the first 30 min. I think the best way to deal with this is simply wake up an hour early, eat something light, then hope that the adrenaline wakes you up enough during the contest.
Thanks, time to put this in for a test rn :)
Move to Europe

Do breathing and visualization for 5 minutes. You can visualize alot of things in your mind!
Yes :)
Have you considered edging?
HaccerKat told me to not search previous message up.
wait until daylight saving time, and then the contests will be at 7:35
Fr, then school clashes w/ it tho...
What would you rather have? Negative rating or no rating change at all? :D
Just do weekend contests!
