From the recent Codeforces Div. 1/2 rounds, we can observe the following pattern:

  • Codeforces Round 968 (Div. 2): Chinese
  • Codeforces Round 967 (Div. 2): Chinese
  • EPIC Institute of Technology Round August 2024 (Div. 1 + Div. 2): Chinese
  • Codeforces Round 965 (Div. 2): Not Chinese (Interestingly, cry seems to be a Chinese American)
  • Codeforces Round 963 (Div. 2): Not Chinese
  • Pinely Round 4 (Div. 1 + Div. 2): Chinese
  • Codeforces Round 961 (Div. 2): Not Chinese
  • Codeforces Round 960 (Div. 2): Unconfirmed
  • Codeforces Round 959 sponsored by NEAR (Div. 1 + Div. 2): Not Chinese
  • Codeforces Round 958 (Div. 2): Chinese

Among these 10 rounds, 5 were authored by Chinese participants. Additionally, when we examine the ratings, China has the highest number of members.

Many rounds also provide Chinese editorials, so why can't we have Chinese problem statements during the contests, similar to the way Russian problem statements are provided? (P.S. It appears that there are fewer contests authored by Russian participants.)

In practical terms, we could assign a translator for each contest, and I believe many people would be willing to volunteer for this role.

It's my opinion that if you participated in many many rounds, you would probably be very familiar with the words which frequently appeared in the statements and you won't need Chinese statements. So it's not necessary and depends on problem writers.

I believe, statistically, most people with high rating face few language problems.

I don't actually get the point of counting the nationalities of the highest rated people.

You are right, I don't face language problem too. For me, I can read English easily.

But the point is NOT the language problem, it's we DESERVE this.

If you don't want to make Divs, just don't do it, nobody is holding you.

Codeforces was made by Russians, that's why it has Russian language. Atcoder was made by Japaneses, that's why it has Japanese language.

Totally agree. And there are people on Luogu (an OJ located in China) providing translation of CF problems after a contest.

I don't know what you mean by that. If it's not the language problem, what are the multilingual problem statements for?

Honestly, providing Chinese problem statements might not be beneficial for me personally. As many of my classmates spend several minutes struggling with the English statements, it could even lead to a drop in my rank, because I can understand them easily. My English score is also quite high.

However, the key point is this: we, the Chinese, have authored many rounds and contributed many algorithms. So, why can't we have Chinese problem statements? We deserve this.

Hmm, I don't know, maybe because Codeforces was made by Russians?

As a Chinese speaker, I don't think it's necessary. Also I think there is no relationship between the nationality of problem setters and the language of statements.

Agree. However, it won't be that fair since there're still an amount of users who don't speak English, so I suggest providing statements in the major languages of the world(beside Chinese) during the contest. One or two volunteers for each language are enough.

Anyway, although it might be a huge change, it will definitely be a great progress of Codeforces as an international platform.

Bro, think more globally. We don't need chinese statements. We all (as a humanity) need to speak a single language instead of having dozens and hundreds of them, that the main problem.
