Hello Codeforces! Recently there was a big sensation about cheaters on Codeforces.

Some people stared to write comments like this: "Indians are cheaters! They can't do anything!"

I am very worried about this. Don't you think that send hatred to the whole nation is a disgusting thing?

How many cheaters are there on Codeforces? There are approximately 100.000 users on Codeforces, while approximately 30.000 of them are Indians. How do you think: how many cheaters are there on Codeforces? Maybe 500, or 1000, or even 2000? It doesn't really matter, because you can already see that only a small percent of Indian coders can be cheaters. Even if it is true that many cheaters are Indian (i don't think so, but some people do), it is a deception that many Indians are cheaters.

Yes, there are many gray Indians. But it is not because India is a bad country, it is because it is fast developing country, and now there is a big increase of Internet users and coders.

And at last: do you see now many red coders are there from India? Indian users often hold contests, test contests.

So please, hate cheaters, not the nation.

"Of course, it has nothing to do with where they came from"

If that's true, why there are a lot of people say "Indian cheaters" instead of "cheaters"? Their nation doesn't matter, so we should name them "cheaters", but not "Indian cheaters".

The culture in India seems to be somewhat focused on doing CP to get a job/do better at interviews.

I don't really know anything about this, but even if that's true, don't you think that these kind of people can be found in any country? There are many Indian coders, so you hear a lot about their culture.

The culture becomes very apparent when you look at initiatives like Codechef Unacademy or Scaler Academy where the entire marketing is "do CP to get a big salary."

    Don't know anything about this.

As a result, when the culture of a country has many people view CP as a resume booster rather than a hobby, they become much more likely to cheat.

I disagree. Even when it is not a hobby, there are not so many people that would like to cheat. Because probably after employer will see their resume with "OMG 1600 CF I am genius!", the unprofessional performance will be revealed in a moment after the employment interview.

but there are plenty of populous countries on Codeforces such as China

There are only 15000 Chinese coders on Codeforces (compare with 30000 Indians). Also Internet and coding are developed much more better in China, so there are not so many newcomers.

I still don't think that people would be so short-sighted as to cheat on CF. I'm pretty sure that tech firms will be able to find out if people earned their ratings legitimately, and the possibility of being outed probably decreases the incentive of cheating.

Also, as far as I know the people who may or may not be Indian asking for job/college tips aren't necessarily the same people who cheat on Codeforces rounds. I think a vast majority of people who ask for tips are still trying to work their way in legitimately.

I instead think that some people just want validation. Being stuck in newbie for a long time is probably not how some contestants (regardless of nationality) may want to end the year. I think these contestants cheat because they want to achieve some milestone that they couldn't have achieved legitimately. They're also probably aware of the effects of having "Skipped" verdicts on their employment but they just want temporary status for their friends right now.

Also on fewer and higher rated Chinese people, there are many online judges already available in China for beginners and many people just do CF from third-party sources (see VJudge and luogu). Many people who use Codeforces off-mirror are probably more advanced and thus less likely to cheat.

Some people started to write comments like this: "Indians are cheaters! They can't do anything!"

I never saw someone write this on comments (except for fial1, but he is a troll account), so please give at least 5 links to comments who say something similar. But statistically there are more Indian cheaters in Codeforces simply because Indian companies hire by rating.

Yeah, it is a small percentage, but still higher than other countries.

Now stop saying bullshit.
