Recently I got a mail from the Facebook hacker cup team to order a T-shirt for myself by using a coupon they provided me in the mail.
I was very excited about the t-shirt especially because it is from Facebook, I was expecting there the name "Facebook" will be mentioned in the t-shirt like in the previous designs but unfortunately in the new design "Facebook" is removed and it only contains "HackerCup" on the front and a cup image on the back, the design is really good(font and the coloring) but I'm feeling sad as I cant flex among my noncoder friends anymore using the t-shirt.
SecondThread any thoughts on this?
Yeah, so as many of you may know, Facebook is rebranding to Meta. So in future years, it's likely to be Meta Hacker Cup, but we didn't get permission to use the word Meta on it yet (not sure whether we will in the future) and were explicitly not allowed to use Facebook for brand reasons, so the clean Hacker Cup is the best possible.
FWIW, personally I'm a fan because you can wear it and it's just like "ah, cool shirt bro" and you don't seem arrogant to people who don't know what it means, but to people who do know what it means, it's a total flex, but also they'll respect you for doing well so you've earned the flex.
But Google Code-Jam is still called Google Code-Jam.
How about including a separate Meta sticker instead then? :thonk:
"Facebook" wasn't on the shirt last year as well afaik? At least it isn't on the shirt I have.

I received one as well from no-reply@jniwebshop.com but it sort of looks like a phishing website to me (it even got marked as dangerous from Gmail). Can someone confirm if it is legit or not?
Yes, I'm talking about this email, I'm assuming it is legit, as it did not ask for any personal info and just allowed me to place an order.
I am supposed to get a Hackercup T-shirt as well, but didn't get any such mail yet. Edit: Found it in the spam folder now.

Just one extra thing: I received 2 of these emails (each with a different and valid key). I completed the form for both of them and got 2 order confirmation emails. So I guess this means I will receive 2 shirts unless one of these orders gets cancelled? I just wanted to express this sin of mine, I'm not sure if anyone else received duplicate emails as well :p

Good morning! This was a bug in the code of the company we hire to do the shirt distribution. This company says that you should be able to use whichever of the two codes you like, but once you use one you won't be able to use the other. Feel free to try using both though :P

Thank goodness for this thread because I would have missed the email otherwise! The email also ended up in my spam box and would have also thought it is a phishing email. Hope to bump this thread up more so that others can benefit too.

By the way, does anyone know if the confirmation email supposed to be automated and immediately after? I haven't received it and it has been a couple of hours.

You can try submitting both, but this was a bug in the code of the company we hire to distribute shirts. According to them you should be able to use either of the codes, but once you use one code, the other one will not work anymore.

I contacted SecondThread directly, you can text him too regarding this issue, he replied to me within 24hrs. Though I haven't gotten the mail yet but he said he has sent the spreadsheet to the concerned authorities.
This is really annoying that we have to watch out for email in order to order t-shirt separately. Why can't you take address and size during registration? I missed the t-shirt last year since I didn't see the mail and I was not expecting the mail, since before last year I think it was not necessary to order from this separate website.
Just received my T-shirt today. Turns out there is still a small "FACEBOOK" written in the sleeve (at least for the Top-200 T-shirt)

The shipping company (DHL) just emailed me to ask for these information about the t-shirt for custom clearance. Could someone (SecondThread or anybody received theirs) please help me with this?

I think it depends on your country but it seems that I don't need to because the t-shirt's value is less than $45 (it is £8, written on the package).
I didn't fill anything and then I have just received the T-shirt today.
