All our rated short contests, including Cook-Off, LunchTime, and Starters will now start at 20:00 HRS IST (+5:30 GMT) / 8:00 PM IST, on their usual days of the month. The contest durations are unchanged.
We have reached this conclusion after an extensive survey, and we hope the uniformity in the starting times help you plan your days easily.
PS: Long Challenge timings will remain as it is.
will prizes be back on cook off and luchtime this time or they r removed forever
"From November 2021, the new prize structure will be changed to:

This is not a temporary change.
CodeChef_admin like for top 100 Indian , how do you decide whether a participant is genuinely from India ?
CodeChef_admin but your survey on linkedIn has more votes for 9PM IST then why you choose 8PM ?
We had various surveys, and after more than 7000 responses in total, it was virtually a tie between 8pm and 9pm IST. We have decided to go with 8pm as that is most similar to the current timings (Cook-Off is the only contest which is near 9pm currently).
It's a really a good decision. I am used to giving contests at 8 only like codeforces.
Me too. Because of the timings, I was able to participate in only 2 Cook-Off contests.
Thanks a lot
Please update rust version
so the CodeChef laddu's and all are obsolete ?
what about people with laddu's
Eat them
Honestly were laddus ever not obsolete? The only things you could buy was cheap merchandise like pens and bottles. In theory you could buy something like a drone, but in practice it would require excessive grinding to come close that almost no one would do anyway.
Why not RED ??
why not GREEN ??
(or red)
CodeChef_admin, please also reduce the duration to 2 hours as solutions to the questions of running contests are available on the internet, thus plagiarism increases exponentially.
Plagiarism should be fought in appropriate way. It shouldn't affect contest experience for regular users at all.
What's the appropriate way?
I think the mentality of people should be changed about ratings, so there will be no cheating, as the root cause is ratings and rankings. Your ways are also great.
The current CodeChef reality is that a large group of plagiarists kept arriving at around 2:45:00 after the start of each contest (but they had been decimated a little bit and this may have affected their habits at least temporarily). Your suggestion is to reduce the contest duration to 2:00:00 with a hope that this may improve something. Now what do you think will happen and which scenario is more likely?
Don't clash the contest with codeforces
