The Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2026 is just around the corner — scheduled for May 9th and 10th, 2026, and will be organized by Taiwan.

For those who haven’t heard of it, APIO is a prestigious IOI-style online contest featuring 3 challenging tasks over 5 hours. It's an important part of the IOI team selection process for many countries across the Asia-Pacific region.

More info is available at APIO 2026 Official Website.

Feel free to use the comments to discuss problem ideas, scores, cutoffs, and results after the contest (and any mirror, if there is one) wraps up.

Good luck to everyone participating — hope it’s a fun and insightful contest!

Winter Competitive Programming Camp

From January 19th to January 31st, a competitive programming camp was held with the participation of Uzbekistan national team Top-32 highest-rated students. The camp was intensive, well-structured, and extremely useful for improving both theoretical knowledge and contest performance.

The camp was led by Mihai-Valeriu Voicu (cadmiumky), a two-time IOI gold medalist, whose experience and explanations played a huge role in the overall quality of the training.

Daily Schedule

Every day started with an IOI-style contest from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The contests were challenging and designed to improve deep problem-solving skills, implementation accuracy, and the ability to think under pressure.

After each contest, a detailed editorial session was held. All problems were discussed thoroughly, including alternative solutions, optimizations, and common mistakes. These sessions were especially helpful for understanding how to approach complex problems during real competitions.

From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, we had lectures focused on advanced competitive programming topics. The lectures connected theory with practice and provided tools that are directly applicable in high-level contests.

Topics Covered

  • Aliens Trick
  • Slope Trick
  • Convex Hull Trick
  • Advanced dynamic programming techniques and optimizations

Final Day Contest

On the last day of the camp, we participated in an ICPC-style team contest. This was a great opportunity to work in teams, practice communication and strategy, and experience the ICPC contest format after many individual IOI-style contests.

Overall Experience

Overall, everything about the camp was organized very well. The problem sets were high quality, the editorials were clear and informative, and the lectures were extremely useful. Training together with strong participants from the Uzbekistan Top-32 created a motivating and competitive environment.

The camp was a valuable experience and significantly improved our algorithmic thinking, contest skills, and understanding of advanced techniques.

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year 2026!

I was wondering how much your rating changed over the course of 2025.

According to my statistics, my rating was 1431 in December 2024, and it is now 1702. This means I gained 271 points during 2025.

I would be interested to hear about your results and progress as well. Looking forward to your responses.

I noticed some bugs caused in today's contest.

First of all, as newmagic mentioned, for some users it didn't start at its own time and contestants simply couldn't enter the contest.

Another odd thing is that tests for problem A were extermely weak.
After contest i realized that my code was hackable, as i didn't consider that elements ain't distinct, so i basically wrote just a small test which hacked my own solution.

I was going to hit new max rating, however due to this tiny issue, it's all over :((

It feels like Division 2 contests have been happening less often lately. We’d really appreciate it if authors could organize more of them for the community.
