In every div2 contest we see many 'unregister' accounts to be at top coders. I know that it is difficult to know if a coder is cheater or no,but we can see the time that he made his/her account. So I think it would be a good idea,if codeforces let someone to take part in a contest after 2-3 days of registaration. What do you think? Is that silly idea,or codeforces could implement it?

Although these new accounts entering the contest and solving the whole problem set sometimes feels irritating

But we should focus more on having fun and learning something new rather than focusing on rating, these graph and colors are nothing compared by the contest atmosphere and what we learn after every contest

Yea I totally agree. The fun and the knowledge costs more than rating, but we need to solve something that it is 'unfair'. Also I did not participate in this contest,so I had no effect in my ratings, but of course it would have in other users.

You're right, lets hope that Codeforces team has this issue on the table of discussion

Is that really so serious? Let's say, there are 20 of those fake accounts taking part in a div. 2 competition. Yes, it might make getting to div. 1 a little harder but only a little. You don't have to win the contest to get there or someting...

That kind of restrictions like that you would have to make a new user 2-3 days before a new contest would affect only some real new participants... Making things hard is a very certain way to get rid of new users. If you are already familiar with codeforces and visit here every now and then, of course it is no problem to make a user a bit earlier.

may be the newly registered users will start getting rated after participating in 2-3 contests.some minimum number of contests can be made compulsory to participate in,before getting into the rating system...may be!!

And maybe the div1 users don't give a damn about rated contests and maybe the new users do may be

I posted the following idea before, but unfortunately no one gave me feedback about it, and I would like to see your opinions:
If making a Codeforces account requires a valid phone number, I think it would reduce the problem greatly, but there are two possible disadvantages:
1) I dont know anything about the cost of such a thing, I'm not sure it's free.
2) I dont know if such a thing would work in all countries

If you have any information/opinion about this idea, please share

UPD:
Another idea is to make unrated users participate in div1 as their first contest, this might make some beginner unrated users get stuck in div1, so maybe an easy problem can be added to div1 contests, or make only the first contest registration for unrated users count as participation.

Why div2 guys don't take revenge and ruin div1 guys' contest too?

but i thought they are already pissed cuz div1 contests are so less and that is why they ruin div2 contests in the first place :P
